What customers say?

“ I loved my Rogan Josh chicken so much there hat I came back the day after to eat it again. The service wasy ver good. I had a meal on the premises and they checked regularly if everything was okay and if I wished for anything. If only they were situated in my country. ”

“ Literally the best curries I’ve ever had. They are so tasty and the portion sizes and deals are really good. I don’t live locally so only order when I’m working nights which is a good job otherwise I’d be the size of a house and bankrupt from ordering from here. Always a great takeaway. Thank you! ”

“ good for a cheap price, we had the spinach curry, mixed grill, poppadoms, chutney and garlic naan and a jug of mango lassi. Everything we ordered came to £30 which isn’t bad for what you get. A lot of bad reviews to do with delivery but we ate in and everything was really good! The chicken saag curry was surprisingly good for a takeaway place. Good portion size and really good value for money, staff were lovely and pleasant too! ”

“ MY HONEST REVIEW I’ve always been a bit unsure about this place. It’s right on my doorstep, but over the years the reviews have been up and down. I believe it’s now under new management. One late night I was desperate for a curry, and this was one of the few places still open, so I went for it. Here’s what I ordered: Masala Fish • Nihari • Balti Special (Lamb) • Chapati • Peshawari Naan • Korma Sauce • Special Rice • Shami Kebab • Small Chips Here’s my honest review, item by item. ⸻ Masala Fish – Very Good, But Small Portion The fish was beautifully cooked and well-spiced. I was genuinely impressed. But the portion was stingy for £5.99. You only get one piece — at that price, I’d expect two. ⸻ Nihari – Absolutely Delicious A big chunk of tender lamb in a rich, flavourful sauce. It does have some gristle (which I personally love), but it’s cooked so well it tastes wonderful. The meat portion was generous and the sauce was outstanding. Highly recommended. ⸻ Balti Special (Lamb) – Excellent Another winner. The lamb wasn’t overcooked, the sauce was deeply flavoursome, and the overall dish felt properly authentic. They did say they’d make it “Apna style” (homestyle Indian) — if you want a true Indian taste rather than the Westernised version, definitely ask for Apna style. ⸻ Chapatis – Nice but Overpriced Fresh and soft, but 95p each is a bit steep. ⸻ Peshawari Naan – A Miss horrible. One of the weakest items. Very thick, heavy, doughy, and just not enjoyable. It didn’t feel like it had any love put into it. I wouldn’t order this again. ⸻ ???? Korma Sauce – Not Worth It. Horrible. For £4, the portion is tiny. Bright nuclear yellow, watery, lacking depth, and needed far more spice and richness. I’d avoid this one. ⸻ Special Rice – Nice Enough, But Not Special Tasty rice, but nothing that justified the “special” label. Also, £3.50 is too much — it feels more like a £2.50 item. I wish they offered plain boiled rice. ⸻ Shami Kebab – OUT OF THIS WORLD One of the best shami kebabs I’ve ever had. Beautifully spiced, tender, and tasted freshly made — not reheated. You get two pieces for £4.50, which is okay, though three pieces would feel spot-on. Still, the flavour was so good I can’t complain. ⸻ Chips – Tiny Portion + Unwanted Spice £2.50 gets you an extremely small portion. Next time I’d get a large. They also sprinkle a dry spicy powder over the chips — I wish they wouldn’t. I prefer plain chips so I can choose my own dip. ⸻ The Place & Experience The shop itself could look warmer and more inviting — it was very cold inside. But it’s mainly a takeaway, so that’s fine. I ordered via Just Eat for collection and still waited around 40 minutes. I didn’t mind too much because the food tasted fresh — and I’d rather wait 40 minutes for fresh cooking than get something microwaved in 5 minutes. The owner was genuinely lovely. ⸻ Would I Come Back? Yes — absolutely. But I’d be more selective with what I order. The curries and shami kebab were fantastic. For anyone who likes proper Indian flavours and isn’t sure what to pick, I’d recommend: • Balti • Bhuna • Nihari I hope this review helps — and well done to the owner. Some dishes were outstanding, and a few others could easily be improved. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. ”

“ Went through an app for delivery. The manager rang to say I could do it cheaper. The mixed starter was really good and tasty. The biriani was very tasty and tender, the only fault was the biriani was a tad dry. Will order again. ”

“ I have ordered from The Spice Hut several times now, and every experience has been excellent. The food is always fresh, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. The spices are well balanced, and you can really taste the quality in every dish. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the food is consistently hot and well presented. Delivery/collection is always quick, and the staff are friendly, polite, and welcoming. I especially love their curries and biryani — rich, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. Spice Hut has become my go-to place whenever I’m craving a proper, tasty takeaway. Highly recommended to anyone looking for authentic flavour, great service, and amazing value. I’ll definitely continue ordering from here! ”
